Long Wharf III

In 1711, Long Wharf was built as an extension of King Street, the
city's largest commercial street.  After it was completed in 1715,
the wharf extended a third of a mile into the Harbor and helped
sustain Boston's commerce needs as the city expanded. The
Wharf filled with stores, shops, and warehouses.
