Long Wharf V
At the opposite end of Long Wharf on King Street was a thriving marketplace
where the first State House was built on the corner of King and Cornhill (now
Washington Street) Streets. After the old State House has built, governing
officials could look down King Street and Long Wharf to see an amazing view
of the harbor. After Americans won their independence from the British, King
Street was renamed State Street. Here you can see present-day views from
both the old State House and the end of Long Wharf.
