North End VI

The North End started its transformation into Boston's Little Italy at the
turn of the 20th Century.  Between 1890-1910, the North End saw a large
population shift, as Jewish residents moved further south to Roxbury and
the South End.  Italian immigrants soon settled in the North End, and by
1920, the North End was 90% Italian.  By 1920, the North End had
experienced another large change with the most bizarre disaster
in Boston's History: the Great Molasses Flood.
