Did you know that the South Bay used to be a body of water?  The South
Bay was one of two large bays that surrounded the neck of Boston in the
1600s.  On the map below, the dark green land is what Boston looked like
in 1630 and the light green area is land that has been filled over the last
270 years.  Can you see where the South Bay was?
