By looking at the map below, you can see much more land was added to the
South Bay by 1927.  The body of water that was the South Bay was shrinking
as hundreds of acres of South Boston were filled in due to the continuing
problem of stagnant sewage.  Additionally, new wharves were added to the
South Bay and a Dry Dock was born from the South Boston Flats project.
