At the turn of the 20th Century, a monument was built atop Telegraph Hill
(known earlier as Signal Tree Hill) to honor those Dorchester, Roxbury,
and Boston soldiers and residents who led Washington to victory in
Boston. An oval-shaped square surrounds the monument.
