Dissolve

Another way to see changes in Boston's landscape is the dissolve feature.
By choosing dissolve, you can see one image emerge from beneath another.
You can perform a dissolve with all three maps, and they will appear in the
order of base map, middle map, and then top map. We used a five map
dissolve to create the animation on the front page of FutureBoston.org:

Maps Over Time Animation

This dissolve shows the evolution of the Fort Hill area in downtown Boston.
The original Fort Hill first became a plaza called Fort Hill Square, and is now
the site of International Place. The final frame shows the Central Artery
Tunnel Project, which will cut through near the original Fort Hill.
